Modern
Interior Design calls for clean lines and natural floors. This
crisp finish is undoubtedly stylish but can feel cold and impersonal.
A rug is the ideal way to bring warmth, colour and
personality into your room, combining classic elegance with
comfort you can sink into and our range of modern style oriental rugs
is designed
to complement all manner of contemporary décor. From absolutely
plain to shaggy and ultra modern - pure wool rugs that keep their
looks and desirability.
Our modern oriental rug collection produced by i2K offers over 100 designs
in different sizes, shapes and qualities. An exciting new developement
is the Natural range made up of 8 carefully blended shades of
undyed
yarn and although minimal and understated in design is rich in
variation and texture - another new addition is the Classic range

of these most natural fibres whilst the Mountain range with its
softer wool/silk fusion is the

A
fine flat style of Moorish weaving developed in 15th Century
France and adapted by Indian and Chinese weavers. The design
usually
incorporates a central floral medallion motif and architectural
designs in pastel colours – an ideal piece to give focus
to a plain room without overpowering colours.
The Dragon is a powerful symbol for the Chinese. Rugs bearing
a dragon emblem were originally used to adorn Buddhist temples
and Throne rooms. They usually feature five dragons - a large one
in the centre with smaller ones at the four corners - or three
dragons assembled together in the centre. In Chinese tradition,
dragons are regarded as sacred symbols of power. They are believed
to ward off evil spirits and symbolise happiness, immortality,
fertility and activity.
